The CRE Foundation, a board independent of Central Rural Electric Cooperative, administers a program called “Operation Round Up.” The CRE Foundation makes grants available to individual projects within the CREC service area. The board recently approved $2,500 for the purchase of one classroom kit for the Raising a Reader program. The kit will provide materials for 26 individual kits to help improve children’s literacy.
